teaching strategies for young children.

Texas, FSP publishes curriculum and provides
décor to classrooms nationwide.

ASCD and the National School Supply and
Equipment Association.
History
In 1990, five Kindergarten teachers (Linda
Reed, Amy Noble, Sheryl Jaggers, Sharon
Burnett and Debra Wood) embarked on a
journey to start a business based on materials
they had created for use in their own
classrooms in Crandall, Texas. The business
began with selling supplemental materials
that taught the alphabet using music (on
cassette tapes). This was the first generation
of "Sing & Read", a program
that has expanded to over 500 products
and is widely used in schools across the
country today. "Sing & Read"
teaches literacy concepts in both English
and Spanish and also teaches math concepts
in English. A recent addition to the FSP
product line is Step Up, a supplemental
program designed to uniquely address the
needs of the current Pre-K guidelines.
These educational products and services
continue to help educators provide a foundation
for emergent language and literacy. These
research-based materials allow children
to master the skills needed for success
in reading, writing, math and additional
curriculum areas. Two of the founders
(Sharon Burnett and Amy Noble) are still
involved with the Company and play significant
roles.
In 2006,
Ron Chase joined the company as CEO and
continues to lead the company into the
future with the same desire to impact
the future of young children by providing
educators with high quality materials
and excellent service.
In 2010, Frog Street Press completed the
largest product development project in
its history, a comprehensive bilingual
program entitled "Frog Street Pre-K".
The senior author team of Frog Street
Pre-K includes Pam Schiller, PhD, Alma
Flor Ada, PhD, F. Isabel Campoy, PhD and
Brian Mowry, and includes contributions
from many other early childhood experts.
This program is now available for purchase
and has been approved by the Texas Education
Agency for inclusion in the 2011 pre-kindergarten
adoption.
